Clayton Community Band-Clayton Opera House

-

Our band is made up of members that come from all over the North Country. Although many live in Clayton, Watertown or surrounding communities in Jefferson County, some of our musicians travel from St. Lawrence and Lewis Counties. We have a few members from even farther away who spend summers in the Clayton area and we welcome them back to play with us each summer season. We also come from many different walks of life. Some of our performers are life-long musicians either as performers or educators in local schools, some are professionals in other areas, and some have retired from their careers and are just looking for a fun and relaxing way to get involved in the community. Despite our differences we all come together each week to rehearse the music that we love sharing with our dedicated audiences.

River Santa Festival – Alexandria Bay

Join us for our Inaugural River Santa Festival!

There will be activities all day long including wagon rides!

Stick around for a special visit from Santa Claus!!

1000 Islands River Santa will take place December 14, 2024, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Upper James Street in Alexandria Bay!
Every child deserves to believe in Santa and to have a real Christmas. Our goal this year is to reach out to every child along the river and/or every child in need from anywhere in Northern New York. When Santa arrives at the village dock in Alexandria Bay by boat with a United States Coast Guard escort, he will be bringing gifts purchased with your donations and sponsorship. This committee is 100% volunteers and every dollar raised will go directly toward the purchase of gifts and the Backpack Program.
This money fed so many children in need through this wonderful program and the schools were beyond grateful for this additional help. This year with your help, we hope to put gifts in the hands of all the children again and to hopefully continue feeding as many children in need as possible through the Backpack Programs. We are also going to donate to three non-profit organizations in the area with the extra donation.
Take a look at the video of the link listed below and you will get an idea of what we accomplished in just four days the first year. This year will again be a festival with food and drink and music on a closed Upper James Street. Hay wagon rides will be offered as well. Many merchants will be open for shopping and eating.
