Our Political Divisions Today: An Historical Perspective
This free public lecture at the Sackets Battlefield site’s barn is Thursday July 23th at 7pm.
Visiting historian and author Donald Hickey examines stages in our American history when the country was deeply divided (including the early national period), what these times had in common, and how, except for 1861, the nation’s citizens managed to navigate through the difficult eras to preserve the nation. He closes his talk with a look ahead at the 2020 election.
