The Sackets Harbor Historical Society presents our 33rd season of Concerts on the Waterfront. In 2017 we present “All That Jazz,” a season in tribute to America’s own music. Originating in New Orleans in the early 20th century, Jazz is rooted in blues and folk, evolving to Swing, Dixieland, Cool Jazz, Latin soul, funk and hip hop.
Bring a picnic and a lawn chair for a free, family-friendly, outdoor concert on the grassy lawn of the Memorial Grove overlooking Black River Bay. Area churches serve as rain sites.
The Concerts on the Waterfront concludes the same way it has for the past 10 years: the DeSantis Orchestra will perform with its signature big band/horn band sound with fabulous vocals from daughter Maria DeSantis, Keith Condon, soul vocalist Gary Branch and other special anniversary guests! Based in Syracuse, this is the orchestra’s 70th year performing throughout the Northeast, New York state, Canada, Massachusetts, Vermont and beyond. They have served as the backup orchestra for many renowned performers and are well known for their high energy performances at festivals, black tie galas, private events, weddings and many concert series.
