Explore one of Ontario’s oldest homes, built for the area’s first physician, Dr. Solomon Jones on land granted to him and his brothers by the government after the American Revolution. Not only  a successful surgeon, Dr. Jones was also an avid farmer and fruit tree expert.  This love of the home and the land continued through seven generations of the Jones family.

Today your group can visit the home and view the grand collection of family artifacts that depicted life on the St. Lawrence through the decades. The restored orchard has trees dating back to the early 1900’s that are still bearing fruit.

Currently, Ontario Heritage Trust is in the process of updating the story of Homewood to include not just the family, but all that were part of the site’s history.
